Field Services Manager- GIS/Breaker

Position Overview

The Field Service Manager will oversee the maintenance and service operations of our MV/HV GIS and Circuit Breakers. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring customer satisfaction while building and managing a team of field service technicians. The position requires approximately 50% travel nationwide for on-site service, warranty calls, and customer support, with the remainder based at our facility for in-shop equipment maintenance and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of MV/HV GIS and Circuit Breakers at customer sites and in the facility shop.

  • Lead and supervise warranty service calls, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.

  • Build, train, and mentor a team of field service technicians as business demands increase.

  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and best practices for all field operations.

  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and resource planning for field assignments.

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers regarding equipment service and support.

  • Provide detailed service reports and feedback to engineering and product teams to support continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining MV/HV Gas-Insulated Switchgear and Circuit Breakers.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing field service teams.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with customers at all levels.

  • Comfortable with travel (approx. 50%).

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).
