Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to perform electrical testing and field service work across various facilities including substations and data centers. The role requires a strong foundation in electrical systems, industry-standard testing practices, and a high level of safety and technical precision.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics and maintenance on electrical infrastructure ranging from low to high voltage.

Execute commissioning and performance testing on systems including relays, switchgear, transformers, and cables.

Validate electrical systems against relevant standards to ensure functionality and compliance.

Identify and resolve faults or inefficiencies in electrical networks and equipment.

Perform insulation resistance, relay calibration, and other specialized testing procedures.

Support preventative maintenance programs to optimize system reliability.

Apply established testing protocols and adhere to safety practices on job sites.

Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

Keep accurate records of service tasks, results, and findings for client and internal use.

Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams to ensure project alignment.

Work in collaboration with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality field service work.

Adhere strictly to health and safety policies during all site operations.
- Maintain and properly handle test instruments and service tools.
- Mentor and assist junior technicians when needed.
Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

NETA certification is a strong asset.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, maintenance, or commissioning, preferably in substations or data center environments.

Solid understanding of electrical testing procedures, industry standards (e.g., NETA), and power system components.

Familiarity with workplace safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E guidelines.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve electrical issues effectively.

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on client service.

Ability to work well independently in the field and also contribute effectively within a team.

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform fieldwork in varying conditions, and handle the demands of the job.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
