With a focused emphasis on chromatography and mass spectrometry, this organization supports laboratories across the United States through instrument sales, financing, refurbishment, and service. Though lean in size, the company operates at national scale, with field service engineers positioned across the country and a strong reputation that outperforms many regional competitors.
This Field Service Engineer opportunity is open due to a recent resignation and comes at a time of continued growth for the organization. As demand increases and the service footprint expands, this role plays a critical part in maintaining customer trust and technical excellence.

What You’ll Do
This role blends technical expertise, customer interaction, and long-term growth opportunity.

Service, repair, and refurbish GCMS instruments at customer sites across the U.S., with a primary focus on the upper Midwest.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues in laboratory environments, delivering reliable, high-quality service.

Support customers through preventive maintenance, repairs, and service contract engagements.

Work with instruments from a variety of vendors, leveraging the company’s vendor-agnostic service model.

Partner closely with internal leadership to support service operations and customer satisfaction goals.

Identify opportunities to support service contract sales and earn commission through those efforts.

Travel regularly to customer sites, using mileage reimbursement or rental vehicles as needed.

Contribute to the continued growth and credibility of the service organization through consistent performance and professionalism.

Preferred Experience & Attributes

5–6 years of experience servicing GCMS instrumentation.

Background servicing instruments through a third-party service provider or instrument manufacturer.

Experience as an in-house service/support professional or chemist transitioning into field service is also considered.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Comfortable traveling extensively within the U.S.

Customer-focused mindset with clear communication and professionalism.
