Field Mechanic III:

  • Hourly Rate $30.00 - $34.00
  • Per Diem - $85.00 per night
  • Direct Hire – after 90 days
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance
  • Flexibility with travel based on company needs and overall company objectives
  • Demonstrates ability to work with others with a focus on safety and customer interaction
  • Thorough knowledge in troubleshooting skills involving hydraulics, low voltage electrical & mechanical components
  • Basic knowledge and the ability to use a gas cutting torch and welding
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment
  • Familiarization in P&H OEM equipment is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license. Obtaining a CDL license will be required.
  • Underground mobile equipment maintenance is a plus
  • MSHA

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Mechanic III

Competency Grade 11

Reports to: Job Supervisor

General Responsibilities:

The Mechanic III will work directly under the supervision of a Leadperson and/or Supervisor in a shop or field environment.

Predominant Tasks:

  • Primary focus on a safe work environment and employing safe work practices on a consistent basis.
  • Assessing equipment repair needs and repair processes.
  • Equipment component rebuilds and gear box rebuilds
  • Processing parts (inspect, clean, deem reusable or scrap)
  • Working in a diverse team environment.
  • Laying out and performing repairs with accuracy and quality with minimal supervision.
  • Assessing equipment repair needs and repair processes.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining and performing minor repairs to assigned tooling.
  • Equipment component rebuilds, i.e. gear box rebuilds
  • Laying out and performing repairs with accuracy and quality without supervision.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining and performing repairs to assigned tooling.
  • Ability to understand scope of job and direct multiple people in completion of job.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and engineering prints.
  • Ability to drive process and/or design improvements.
  • Work with QA/QC to Develop Best Practices

Education/Experience/Other:

  • Associates Millwright degree preferred but not required.
  • 1 – 2 years related mechanical experience.
  • Entry Level Application of trade mathematics.
  • Entry Level Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas
  • Entry Level Ability to use precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Associates Millwright Degree and minimum 2 years job specific mechanical experience.
  • Application of trade mathematics.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges with minimal supervision or assistance.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Associates Millwright Degree and minimum 5 years job specific mechanical rebuild experience.

Application of advanced trades mathematics.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas
  • Proficient use of precision measuring instruments: mag particle tester, micrometer, laser aligner, caliper and bore gauges with no supervision.
