Fiberline Manager
Superintendent/ Manager of Fiberline is responsible for all facets of safety, housekeeping, quality, productivity, and cost control for the Fiberline department. Position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works safely and expects others to work safely

- Sets and holds high work practice standards
- Ensures quality pulp is produced in a cost-efficient manner
- Knows and understand cost pinch points and seeks to lower costs
- Track and manage chemical addition and inventories, while producing good quality fluff pulp
- Understands and tracks pulp quality parameter
- Knows, understands, and complies with all applicable environmental requirements
- Provide operational leadership and process support to the Fiberline operating department, to include:
- Setting daily tactical plans to maximize fluff pulp in a cost-efficient manner
- Setting strategic plans for slush pulp production
- Understanding and troubleshooting pulp mill operations including Kaymr EMCC continuous digesters, brown stock screening, diffusion washing, bleach plant operations in an O2, D, Eop, D, P bleach line, and ClO2 production in an R10 process.
- Input to the setting of maintenance plans and priorities
- Manage technical/chemical vendors and suppliers
- Focus specifically on digester operations and efficiencies
- Provide technical & training assistance to operations
- Ensure PSM compliance
- Review, develop, and support effective, safe operating guidelines and procedures
- Participates in corporate initiatives, such as the corporate Fiberline and PSM Functional Teams
Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences
Years of Experience/Education/Certifications:
BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper Technology or equivalent experience. Must have a minimum of 7+ years of job-related experience in pulp manufacturing process as well as have expert level of knowledge in Fiberline operations. Must possess strong leadership traits and experience and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written. Ability to lead and manage other leaders. Work in a group as a team member and a leader. Strong coach and mentor.
Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and OSHA standards. Prior experience managing in a Union contract mill is preferred.Full-Time Regular
