Federal Sales Engineer

Overview

Our client is a well-established provider of secure identity, access control, and security management solutions supporting complex, mission-critical environments. They are seeking a Federal Sales Engineer to partner closely with their government sales team, supporting federal agencies across the Washington, DC region.

This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and customer engagement, helping federal customers understand how integrated physical and logical security solutions can solve real-world challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the technical subject-matter expert supporting federal sales pursuits and active customer engagements

  • Partner with federal sales executives to design, position, and present security solutions tailored to agency requirements

  • Lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept discussions

  • Translate customer needs into solution architectures, proposals, and statements of work

  • Support RFP/RFI responses with technical input, compliance mapping, and solution narratives

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout the pre-sales cycle

  • Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are feasible and well-aligned

What You’ll Need

  • Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consultant supporting U.S. federal customers

  • Strong understanding of security technologies such as access control, identity management, video, or integrated security platforms

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Familiarity with federal procurement processes and compliance-driven environments

  • Comfort supporting in-person meetings and on-site engagements within the DC metro area

  • Active or eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance is strongly preferred
