They are looking for an experienced Feed and Cropping Systems Operator to join their team.

Position Overview:

This hands-on role involves livestock feeding, fieldwork, equipment operation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have heavy equipment experience, mechanical aptitude, and a solid understanding of dairy or crop farming operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Feeding & Livestock Care:

  • Operate feeding equipment for grinding straw, green chopping, and relief feeding
  • Manage manure systems, including pumping, transferring, and V-bottom hauling

Field & Cropping Operations:

  • Perform fieldwork preparation (chisel plowing, cultivating, rolling fields)
  • Assist with land and fence line clearing, seeding, and harvesting
  • Oversee feed storage preparation and coverage

Heavy Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

  • Operate tractors, loaders, and other farm machinery
  • Conduct routine maintenance (oil & filter changes, greasing, minor repairs)
  • Manage inventory for equipment parts and farm supplies

Facility & Property Maintenance:

  • Maintain farm structures, including gates, fans, headlocks, and freestalls
  • Assist with minor construction and concrete work
  • Perform general repairs on rental properties as needed

Shop & Organization:

  • Maintain shop inventory, cleanliness, and organization

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in livestock or crop farming (dairy experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in heavy equipment operation (tractors, loaders, feeding equipment)
  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to perform equipment maintenance
  • Self-motivated, independent, and a team player
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
