Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Factoring Underwriter to join this team remotely. This role is vital to the success of the client onboarding process and ongoing portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in factoring underwriting, and a strong understanding of risk assessment in multiple industry verticals. The candidate must be comfortable working in a remote environment, possess exceptional communication skills, and be proactive in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, credit, operations, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze factoring applications, financial statements, aging reports, and other supporting documents to assess creditworthiness and risk.

  • Evaluate debtor credit quality, industry trends, and client business operations to determine eligibility and appropriate credit limits.

  • Collaborate closely with the sales and onboarding teams to structure deals that meet client needs while minimizing risk.

  • Work with internal departments (such as legal, risk, and operations) to ensure all underwriting standards are met.

  • Maintain clear documentation of underwriting decisions and rationale in compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Monitor client performance post-funding and recommend changes to credit structures when necessary.

  • Identify and escalate any red flags or potential risks discovered during the underwriting process.

  • Participate in ongoing process improvements and provide input on underwriting best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in factoring underwriting.

  • Strong knowledge of factoring processes and risk evaluation techniques across multiple industries (transportation, healthcare, staffing, construction, manufacturing, etc.).

  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools, CRM systems, and common business software (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field preferred.
