Job Description

Our client is recruiting for a Facilities Manager for their Cape Town branch.

Job Purpose:

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the entire facilities department within the company, ensuring that company standards are always met. Responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of the organisation. Ensuring that the organisation has the most suitable working environment for the employees and their activities. Duties generally focus on using best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with building management
  • Scheduling of maintenance and liaising with contractors where applicable
  • Responsible for dealing with parking allocation and management
  • Responsible for supervision of Security guards
  • Responsible for supervision of the cleaners
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the building, internal office areas and bathrooms
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Technical monitoring
  • Ensuring all cameras and access points are in working order
  • Responsible for camera maintenance and interrogations
  • Ensuring company adherence to all Health and safety regulations and that all the necessary procedures are in place
  • Maintaining a health and safety file
  • Ensuring all training is up to date
  • Fire inspections and equipment maintenance is upheld annually
  • Managing and controlling of stock, chemicals, and vending requirements
  • Ensuring the constant supply levels without interruption
  • Maintain accurate and complete records

Soft Skills:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple staff at all levels
  • Career development for direct reports (counselling, coaching, identify KPA’s, career planning and goal setting)

Technical Skills:

  • Must have excellent managerial skills
  • Previous experience with security cameras and management thereof
  • Extensive knowledge of Laws related to Health and Safety
  • Basic financial skills
  • Strong Administrative skills
  • Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Basic Computer skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Facilities Management qualification preferable
  • 3 to 4 years facilities management experience in a corporate environment

Salary: Market related based on the level of experience

Working Hours: 08h00 - 17h00 / 09h00 - 18h00, Mondays to Fridays
