Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and service multiple manufacturing facilities across Connecticut. This full-time role is fundamental in ensuring our properties are operational, safe, and visually appealing. You will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, from routine inspection to emergency repairs. Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills across various systems, thrive in diverse environments, and have a penchant for problem-solving and preventive care.

Salary: $18 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure effective operation.
  • Execute repairs on building components such as doors, windows, drywall, and flooring to maintain structural integrity and aesthetics.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules that minimize breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of equipment.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies, minimizing downtime and resolving problems swiftly to maintain continuous operations.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and ensure compliance with building codes and internal policies during every task performed.
  • Maintain a well-stocked inventory of necessary tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for all tasks.
  • Record and document all maintenance and repair activities to keep accurate historical references of tasks.
  • Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and vendors to facilitate specialized repairs and upcoming projects.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician or in a similar role, ideally within multi-site manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance tasks.
  • Relevant trade certifications such as HVAC, EPA, or electrical are highly desirable.
  • Ability to physically handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and adapting to various environmental conditions.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel between job sites.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and to be on-call for emergencies as needed.

  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
