Job Performance Profile – Facilities Maintenance Manager

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Manager for Furniture Enterprises of Alaska (FEA) will report to the President and will work with our management team to produce annual maintenance calendars for all properties. This is a substantial role that requires prior building maintenance and facilities experience since FEA operates approximately 600,000 square feet of buildings all together.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and service vendors.
  • Skills in minor repairs / electrical/ plumbing is highly preferred.
  • Execute task on calendars on time through thru team members or independent contractors.
  • Seek reputable providers to bid on annual service contacts for HVAC, snowplowing, landscaping, elevators, fire sprinklers etc.
  • Provide routine maintenance on exterior of buildings to insure they are safe, maintain value and make a positive first impression on our customers.
  • Provide routine maintenance on interior of buildings to insure that they are safe , clean, and comfortable for our customers and staff.
  • Immediately respond to and address issues such as security, leaks , ice, loss of heat , electrical etc. and resolve by using company staff of service providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and delegate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage a preventative maintenance program for a Fleet.
  • Oversee small team of internal maintenance and cleaning staff.
  • Purchase tools, parts, and inventory for all properties.
  • Respond to emergency situations.

Some required travel to Fairbanks and Soldotna on a as needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience maintaining commercial real estate, industrial and or office, flex, properties.
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
  • Extremely organized, and can thrive in a fast–paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.
  • Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Possession of valid driver's license, vehicle, and insurance.
  • Requires travel to properties including the Anchorage area and
  • Work effectively with your peer group including Store Managers, Distribution, and corporate staff.

Physical Demands:

  • Sit, stand, stoop, and walk most of the day.
  • May have to demonstrate the use of equipment.
  • Must be able to work in varying conditions, close quarters, inside and outdoors.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and carry heavy objects

Schedule:

The general schedule is Monday to Friday

May have to flex and respond from time to time to weather related and or property related issues that arise including on nights and or weekends. This is an extremely important role where communication is very key and important with the CEO of the company as well as with your peers and stakeholders other members of the corporate team.
