Our client, a national manufacturer with a location in the Fayetteville, NC area, has an immediate opening for a Fabrication Production Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Manages fabrication department ensuring proper carryover of production activities and requirements with an emphasis on product quality, on time delivery, and factory production efficiency.
- Takes ownership and reinforces performance board metrics, improvement, support and results of department.
- Cross trains and rotate employees in all fabrication tracks
- Trains operators in proper safety procedures and control usage of personal safety equipment
Ensures labor and machine capacities to accomplish production schedules - Establishes and maintains key performance measures throughout the production environment
- Leads cross-functional team to direct the order fulfillment process for assigned product lines
- Provides leadership to make sure proper customer service, safety, 5S, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are in place and are promptly accomplished
- Responds issues and provides leadership to root cause analysis and corrective action plan execution
- Work with production planner to ensure changeover sequencing minimizes labor and material costs, if applicable
- Coordinates maintenance with maintenance staff to minimize production downtime and increase production efficiency
- Works to control the minimization of scrap
- Responsible for daily time and attendance
EDUCATION:
- AAS Degree in Welding Technology
- Bachelor's degree preferred
REQUIREMENTS
- High caliber of quality control and inspecting employees work
- Provide leadership, effective management and development of direct reports
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop drawings, technical procedures, and listing agreements - ASME Code welder sec. VIII or ability to pass test within 30 days
- 5-7 year fabrication leadership experience
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure/training manuals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must have knowledge and be proficient in the use of internet software, primarily Microsoft Office
- The individual would be measured on successes in the following areas: safety record, reject/scrap percentages, attendance, start-up and change-over efficiency, meet or exceed production rates, production staff evaluations, competence of production staff, production output efficiency improvement
- Ensure company policies are followed
