Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Bangalore has an exciting opportunity for a FAI Engineer - Quality Department. Prepare FAI documentation by studying and interpreting customer drawings and CAD models. Carry out First Article Inspection on parts, when required. To ensure adherence to the Quality Management System in all quality aspects.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Prepare FAI documentation by studying and interpreting customer drawings and CAD models.
2. Prepare inspection plan based on customer drawings and/or CAD models.
3. Carry out First Article Inspection on parts, when required.
4. Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102/Customer requirements.
5. Review and approve FAI documents.
6. Liaise with internal departments to build information packs for FAI
7. Attend review meetings with internal project leaders and customers on FAIR related issues
8. To ensure adherence to the Quality Management System in all quality aspects.
9. Perform and submit FAI thru net-inspect when required.
10. Prepare APQP and PPAP documents in line with customer requirements.

Position Requirements

Ideally, the jobholder should possess the following Education Qualifications, Skills and experience.

Education Qualification: BE Mechanical / DME (With 3- 5 years’ Experience Min).

BE degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of technical discipline.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in inspection of First Article Parts.

Experience in interpretation and measurement of all GD&T features. Experience/Knowledge on CMM and interpretation of results. Proficient in Microsoft, possess good working knowledge of QC Tools, GD&T and problem solving knowledge Experience/Knowledge on interrogating CATIA models and prepare inspection plan for all features.

Skills Set Required: · • Knowledge of AS9100 standard · • Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102 Good Knowledge on DPD/MBD process. Good Knowledge of APQP and PPAP requirements. Knowledge on Special Process an added advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication. Must possess Knowledge on AS9100D and AS9102B. · Preparation of Quality Plans · Good Knowledge of GD&T · Acquire enhanced inspection skills · To be able to read & interpret engineering drawings · To have good communication skills
