Extrusion Machine Operator
Resume is Required.
1st shift: 5am-5pm
2nd shift: 5pm-5am
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Follows all company safety and work procedures to ensure a safe, productive work environment; checks to ensure all safety guards are in place and working properly
· Performs setup and operates extrude to produce product according to quality and productivity requires
· Troubleshoots equipment, web handling, and other production issues
· Detects and solves problems related to product quality, aesthetics, and/or contamination
· Adjusts machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or raw materials
· Records and maintains production data
· Assists with replacing preventive maintenance activities
· Assist in training other team members
· Inspects quality of rolls before production beings and continuously checks quality of the line as product is produced
· Ensures material meets customer requirements
· Completes all required paperwork and forms
· Update Daily Management System at the end of each shift; provides daily communication to coworkers, maintenance, and management team members
· Participants in continuous improvement activities
· Ability to see colors
· Lift up to 40 pounds
· Completes a minimum of one safety behavior observation/near miss report each month
· Position requires flexibility to include shift changes and overtime; must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required
· Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance
· Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education
· High School diploma or GED required
Professional background
· Minimum of 1-year experience as an extrusion operator in a plastic packaging environment or equivalent machine operator experience
· Ability to read a tape measure
· Ability to perform basic mathematical problems
Soft skills
· Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
· Attention to Detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work in team environment
Physical Demands
· While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is consistently stand, walk, climb, stoop or kneel, reach with arms and hands, and talk or hear. Manufacturing work environment may be loud, with varying temperatures. The incumbent will work with inks and solvents with strong odors and other chemicals as part of the manufacturing process. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when in manufacturing and warehouse areas.
