Executive Director of Hospice Operations

We are seeking a seasoned Executive Director of Hospice Operations to lead and expand our hospice services. This critical role focuses on maintaining high standards and goals while ensuring the fiscal viability and growth of our services. The successful candidate will bring a blend of healthcare administration expertise and dynamic leadership skills, significantly impacting our patient care and operational success. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in strategic decision-making, personnel management, and overall direction of the hospice program.

Salary: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general management and operational aspects of hospice services.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust the annual budget in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Analyze market conditions, business volume/mix, competition, and operational costs to optimize gross profit.
  • Drive growth and sustainability through strategic business development and client relationship management.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain proficient clinical and administrative staff.
  • Ensure comprehensive patient care by collaborating with clinical staff to oversee patient intake and needs assessment processes.
  • Advocate and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to hospice care.
  • Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing organizational culture.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • A minimum of 5 years in healthcare administration, with a focus on leadership roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing hospice operations.
  • Proven experience with budgetary responsibilities including the development and fiscal management of budgets.
  • Broad knowledge of and adherence to federal and state regulations pertaining to hospice care.
  • Exceptional leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Superior problem-solving, decision-making, and assertiveness skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Local market experience in hospice or healthcare services.
  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration or related field.
  • Experience in scaling up operations for larger or multi-site hospice services.
