Executive Compensation & Benefits Partner

We are seeking an experienced Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Partner at AmLaw200, a prestigious law firm with locations across Florida. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional who has a deep understanding and expertise in executive compensation and various employee benefit plans. The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic role, offering tailored strategies and legal guidance to optimize organizational effectiveness and compliance.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal expertise across a wide range of executive compensation and employee benefits matters including 401k, defined benefits, and profit-sharing plans.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of plan documents and employee benefit agreements.
  • Advise on the impact of legislative changes affecting executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Assist clients with the design and implementation of compensation and benefits plans that meet regulatory compliance and strategic objectives.
  • Represent the firm with integrity and professionalism in interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and other external entities.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while growing a sustainable book of business.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions and cross-functional support.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of legal practice with significant focus on executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in, or pending membership in, the Florida Bar.
  • Proven track record of handling complex employee benefits matters and providing excellent client service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize competing demands.
  • Superb communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Attentive to details to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all legal documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portable book of business in the field of executive compensation and employee benefits.
  • Experience with multinational corporations and their compensation strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
  • Background in tax law as it pertains to executive compensation.
  • Public speaking experience and ability to conduct workshops or seminars.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS, ACA, and DOL regulations and their applications.
  • Expert Ability in legal research and analysis related to compensation and benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to adapt to complex legal challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to forge and maintain professional relationships.
