A family-run general contractor in downtown DC, deliberately selective about the volume of work it takes on, with a reputation for strong employee retention — is looking for an Estimator to support preconstruction on a varied pipeline of commercial, historic restoration, office-conversion, and multifamily/mixed-use projects.

Because this firm stays lean by choice rather than chasing scale, the Estimator seat here isn't buried in a big preconstruction department, you're close to the decision-makers and your numbers directly shape which jobs the company pursues.

What You'd Be Doing

• Preparing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates across commercial and multifamily projects
• Soliciting and leveling subcontractor bids
• Supporting buyout and preconstruction planning
• Working closely with project leadership on pursuit strategy and pricing

What They're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift) and Bluebeam
• Strong grasp of commercial construction cost structures and subcontractor bid processes
