Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for large commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project specifications, materials, and labor costs, as well as proficiency in estimation software to develop accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates based on project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Analyze project requirements, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure accurate pricing and budgeting.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, bid documents, and contracts to identify key cost factors.
  • Utilize estimation software to develop cost models and track project expenses.
  • Participate in value engineering efforts to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments for senior management.
  • Stay updated on market trends, material pricing, and labor rates to ensure competitive bids.
  • Assist in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in estimating large commercial projects (e.g., high-rise, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use developments).
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, or PlanSwift).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess cost impacts and project feasibility.
  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and labor requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
