Estimator- Dallas Area
Essential Functions
- Create responsive proposals to both simple and complex offerings; create accessories to cost/qualification proposals; qualify vendor proposals to ascertain scope duplication and/or omissions/exclusions
- Continually develop and maintain relationships with client and vendor base; work, communicate, present and negotiate with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers and sub-tier contractors to win business
- Meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site, as necessary; thoroughly vet subcontractors
- Proficient in developing detailed, conceptual estimates
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, develop assumed specifications, and assign market relevant cost factors to fully articulate preliminary/final construction cost estimates
- Help negotiate Agreements to subcontractor vendors; draft/negotiate written Scopes of Work (SOW) in conjunction with Project Manager
- Maintain positive cost control practices within, but not limited to: change orders, buyouts,and projections
- Maintain materials/equipment inventory
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum of five years of verifiable construction industry experience AND bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field required; equivalent experience may be used in lieu
- Previous experience estimating +$5MM projects
