Estimator- Heavy Civil / Highway / Sitework

This is a role where estimators don’t just bid work—they build ownership.

Our client is an employee-owned (ESOP) heavy civil contractor specializing in highway, civil, and sitework projects. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to support ongoing work and continued growth across the Midwest.

Your Role with the Team:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil / highway projects
• Review plans, specs, quantities, and production rates
• Build budgets with project management teams
• Solicit and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Conduct site visits as needed
• Identify risks and opportunities within estimates
• Support cost tracking and budget alignment throughout projects

Skills:

• 5+ years estimating heavy civil / highway projects
• Experience with Agtek, HCSS, or similar estimating software
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and costs
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar
