Environmental Manager

PURPOSE: The Environmental Manager is to provide supervision and expertise to the Wastewater Treatment and Boiler House functions at this paper making operation in the Midwest. Consistently upgrading facility located in a beautiful area, great management team, highly visible position that would be a great fit for a highly motivated individual with a solid Environmental background in manufacturing or similar facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate Wastewater Treatment facility in compliance with federal, state and local requirements
  • Supervise Operators and Environmental Specialist
  • Perform daily operations of wastewater treatment to include water testing and treatment, identifying and correcting treatment issues, ordering of supplies
  • Oversees maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Boiler House systems to include cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tanks and containment areas
  • Enters and tracks work orders to ensure systems are operational at all times
  • Develops Wastewater Treatment and Boiler projects and provides direction to sub-contractors
  • Responsible for Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for Wastewater Treatment and Boiler House systems

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Wastewater Class B or C (preferred) certificate required, or potential to gain Class C
  • 5+ years of wastewater experience
