What you'll do:

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assuring compliance to all local, state, country, and corporate requirements.

  • Manage all aspects of the H&S program within OH&S Act and Standards
  • Create & monitor accident reports, initiating investigations and perform 8-D reports of critical incidents
  • Deal with all EH&S related issues in a proactive manner including investigating observations and near miss reports.
  • Develop plant policies/procedures
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training materials to all functions
  • Co-chair of JHSC
  • Administer environmental health, safety inspections
  • Approve new equipment and processes and ensure application of safety standards.
  • Develop and administer all in-plant H&S training material
  • Lead plant efforts to reduce repetitive strain injuries
  • Develop monthly H&S talks
  • Coordinate Physical Demands Analysis
  • Manage the Early and Safe Return to Work Program for all WSIB related injuries
  • Implementation of the legal requirements and operational standards in local guidelines and procedures
  • Independent planning and implementation of site safety walks
  • Active support of Environment, Health & Safety Audits (internal & external)
  • Creation and maintenance of local processes on the subject of environment, Health & Safety as well as support on global processes and standards
  • Creation and maintenance of KPIs on the subject of Environment, Health & Safety
  • Elaboration of suggestions to improve work safety on-site
  • Be a partner for our employees for Environment, Health & Safety related questions
  • Manage all aspects of the H&S program within OH&S Act and Standards


What you'll bring:

  • Degree and/or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 3+ years of experience in Environmental, Health and Work Safety
  • CRSP certified or eligible
  • Knowledge of applicable government legislation
  • Experience in the field of Environment, Health & Safety
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility a plus
  • Experience with the following areas is highly preferred: machine safety, risk assessments, ergonomics, facility risk management, accident investigation and root cause analysis, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work with others as a team
  • Ability to work with Global teams
  • Analytical ability and great problem-solving skills
  • Presentation skills and ability to convey message
  • Experience with internal and external audits
