SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Responsible for company safety and training programs.
EDUCATION / JOB EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Environmental Engineering or closely related field preferred
- Over 2 years experience in manufacturing
- Prior experience working with regulatory agencies, i.e. local water board, ADEM, EPA, etc.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure company compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with others and business to address EHS issues.
- Inform management, company employees, and other interested parties of EHS issues.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain training plan, to include training material calendar and matrix.
- Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties.
- Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to speak in front of large groups and communicate ideas effectively.
- Computer skills, i.e. Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Word, Access, and standard office equipment.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirement.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, walk up and down steps, and lift objects when necessary.

- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
