Environmental Engineer - Project Manager

Webuild (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead technical initiatives and manage the daily operations of environmental projects, providing strategic oversight that supports the organization’s mission and meets client objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, government agencies, or related fields, with a strong background in overseeing field studies, large-scale testing, and numerical simulations addressing key environmental concerns such as waste disposal, site remediation, soil improvements, and regulatory permitting and coordination.

The Senior Environmental Engineer will be responsible for conducting and delivering both Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), as well as performing a variety of field investigations, including construction monitoring with instrumentation, groundwater and soil sampling, asbestos and lead-based paint assessments, and remediation system monitoring. Responsibilities will include preparing detailed compliance reports, managing medium to large-scale environmental projects, and overseeing all aspects of scheduling, budgeting, and field operations. Additional responsibilities involve coordinating subcontractor activities, documenting field measurements and sample collections, performing engineering calculations using both standard formulas and specialized software, and reviewing environmental reports to ensure quality and compliance.

The Senior Environmental Engineer will also work closely with internal operations teams, supporting proposal development, business development efforts, and leading technical initiatives for organizational growth.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil / Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology is required, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in Wisconsin, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.

Candidates with strong regulatory consulting experience in Wisconsin and Illinois are highly preferred and will be given priority consideration.
