Job description

Traveling Project Engineer – $100K per Year

Based in Colorado – Nationwide Travel Required
Employee-Owned Heavy Civil Contractor Build Infrastructure, Build Wealth

About the Opportunity:

We’re hiring a Traveling Project Engineer with 0–2 years of experience to support heavy civil infrastructure projects across the U.S. This is a ground-floor opportunity to launch your career with a self-performing contractor that builds critical transportation and utility infrastructure — not commercial buildings — while building long-term wealth through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Based out of Colorado, you’ll travel to project sites nationwide, working shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced professionals who build roads, bridges, utilities, and public works from the ground up.

Note: This is a heavy civil construction role only.
Candidates with commercial or vertical building backgrounds will not be considered. What You’ll Do:

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project execution
  • Track schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate between subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field crews
  • Participate in field inspections, safety audits, and site meetings
  • Help manage project budgets, cost tracking, and productivity metrics
  • Learn to solve real-world problems in complex jobsite environments
  • Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to spec
  • Travel to active jobsites nationwide as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships/co-ops in heavy civil welcome)
  • Passion for infrastructure — highways, bridges, earthwork, utilities
  • Must have experience or strong interest in heavy civil, not commercial
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; knowledge of PM software a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across the U.S.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Colorado

What You’ll Get:

  • $80K – $100K starting salary
  • Employee ownership through our ESOP — earn equity as you build
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Travel per diem, lodging, and mileage reimbursement
  • Structured training, mentorship, and rapid career advancement
  • Opportunity to help build large-scale public infrastructure that lasts
