Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Winnipeg has an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Entry Level Chemist role to join our team at the Rockwood Propellant Plant. Our Rockwood facility is located just 20 minutes North of Winnipeg, near Stony Mountain, MB.

Essential Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining standards and procedures for analytical methodologies and techniques using standard quality control to computerized instrumentation.
• Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine chemical and physical properties for all related inorganic and organic raw materials and formulations.
• Assisting in originating and evaluating new R & D programs, materials and processes.
• Liaising with external technical agencies, suppliers and customers or internal support groups to improve or resolve problems related with materials, processes and formulations, and their associated instrumentation and testing.
• Providing guidance and assistance to other chemists and technologists.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.
• Experience in a Manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
• Experience in solid propellant formulations and explosive manufacturing considered will be considered an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
