ENGINEERING MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY: Reports to the company president. “Hands -on” manager for Engineering functions which include product development, manufacturing engineering and maintenance, and quality assurance to meet strategic growth plans while sustaining the current operations of the factory.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads and directs team to obtain optimum productivity and exceed production goals

Assists in the development of processes and procedures to drive improvements and best practices, including CNC machining and implementation of automation

Participate in design reviews and responsible for improving the design-for-manufacturing (DFMA) early in the design phase of new product development.

Manage quality assurance and operations teams to manage root cause analysis and corrective action related to internal and/or external quality concerns.

Manage staff selection, performance development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach business goals and expectations.

Conducts continuous search of new materials, equipment, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the production lines, maintaining processes and troubleshooting problems.

Manages R&D to ensure on-time launch scheduling for new products.

Responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods, ensuring the highest quality, lowest cost, lowest scrap, and optimum capacity.

Guide design/manufacturing concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Quotes, purchases, and inspects new equipment required for ongoing efficient operation of process and implementation of new processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS in Engineering and/or Material Science Field

Minimum of 5-7 years of managerial experience

Minimum of 10-years’ experience in manufacturing
