Engineering Director- Power Products and Services

We are seeking a technically strong and proactive electrical engineering leader to support complex engineered equipment and system integration projects, including but not limited to custom-built LV/MV Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and Control equipment. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with leadership ability and a hands-on approach to project execution. The selected individual will help drive engineering initiatives, support business growth, and work cross-functionally to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal engineering and operations review meetings to support coordination across teams.
  • Provide technical and engineering support to internal project groups and operating locations.
  • Help ensure engineered solutions align with customer requirements and relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality enhancement efforts across engineering activities.
  • Maintain compliance with internal operating procedures, safety expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the integration of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring all components function together as intended and satisfy design, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, controls/software, manufacturing, and quality personnel, to deliver integrated system solutions.
  • Develop integration approaches for complex electrical packages, including power distribution, automation, controls, and communications interfaces.
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, verification activities, and validation testing to confirm performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Develop and oversee site-related electrical procedures, including technical guidance for wiring methods and system connections.
  • Manage engineering projects from initial concept through completion, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and resource needs to meet project milestones and commitments.
  • Remain informed on evolving technologies, tools, and best practices in electrical engineering and system integration.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with emphasis on design, integration, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of control system design, including medium-voltage equipment, programmable controllers, variable frequency drives, programming concepts, panel design, component selection, testing, and design changes.
  • Working knowledge of building and industrial electrical design elements such as panelboards, lighting, receptacles, grounding, conduit, and wiring systems.
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, and revise one-line diagrams, layout drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings.
  • Willingness to travel as project needs require.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical safety and installation codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with common engineering and office software tools, including drafting/design platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and manage project responsibilities effectively.
