Engineer
As an Engineer, the candidate will focus on designing many different types of buildings for construction including:
agricultural, commercial, residential and industrial. An ideal candidate is interested in producing high quality, detailed
work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. They must have strong oral and written
communication skills; be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. They must be highly
organized with attention to detail and be able to perform critical thinking and problem solving.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Develop plan views, cross section, construction details, etc. for the buildings to be constructed.
• Develop preliminary drawings for buildings at the initial state of quoting.
• Employ structural analysis to determine loads on structural members.
• Employ structural design software to size members under various loads.
• Utilize IBC (International Building Code) and provisions in ASCE 7 (American Society of Civil Engineers).
• Learn and understand product lines.
• Attend training meetings to advance relevant knowledge and skills.
• Develop estimates for various client buildings; i.e. quantity take-off of materials and applicable material
costing.
• Understand and observe all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, structural design, and building codes
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Ability to perform relevant structural analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or a related field of study.
• 3-5 years of experience in the study or practice of Building Design/Engineering
PREFERRED
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or related CAD drafting software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
