Position Title: Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and industrializing new designs or improving designs. Ensuring that products comply with customer requirements.
  • Report (internally and to the Client) transparently the development achieved.
  • Resolve efficiently all technical problems arising during the assigned product's development.
  • Represent the technical team in internal and external discussions with various functions.
  • Generate the Engineering BOM for all designs developed. Generate and review DFMEAs to identify potential design flaws and minimize risks where applicable.
  • When necessary, communicate with customers and obtain approval for deviations.
  • Coordinate with the testing and validation team to request samples and integrate the testing and validation activities necessary for the developed product into the project's progress.
  • Oversee the prototype process, working closely with the Manufacturing and Test and Validation team to build and test prototypes.
  • During the quote request phase, support the model shop with the information needed to quote prototypes for the assigned product.
  • Work closely with the Design team to utilize computer-aided design software to create detailed models and engineering drawings. Collect and provide the CAE team with the conditions for the simulation. Approve and release 3D models of the developed products.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for automotive components, considering strength, durability, and cost.
  • Work with the Manufacturing team to optimize production processes and ensure efficient assembly.
  • Effectively process approved changes for the developed project: traceability must be maintained for the entire team. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the product development process.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and Sales team and customer feedback to incorporate customer requirements and market trends into product development.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Engineering Degree.
  • 2+ years in Auto Industry
  • Understanding of CAD, CAE, some experience with related software.
