As a recognized leader in our field, The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health under the umbrella of The Guidance Center provides a broad range of services that have helped children, adults and families unlock potential and build better lives for 60 years. With 25 programs, we offer treatment, prevention, growth and education services to more than 23,400 people annually.

The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health is a global organization that includes infant mental health associations who offer the Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health® (IMH-E® and ECMH-E®) credentials. We know that early experiences and relationships shape how the brain is built. We firmly believe that supporting professional development initiatives and professionalization of the infant, young child and family workforce is a crucial strategy for supporting early relationship development. That’s why we believe Endorsement is good for babies, young children and their families. In the coming year, we are committed to examining our current Endorsement system and its components, like reflective supervision/consultation, to ensure that it is anti-racist, diversity-informed and equitable. We believe doing so will lead to greater racial and cultural diversity in the workforce so that the professionals who serve babies reflect the diversity of their families.
