Employee Benefits Risk Advisor
Our client, a respected and growth-minded insurance brokerage, is seeking an Employee Benefits Risk Advisor to join their advisory team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on developing client relationships, delivering consultative benefits guidance, and leading strategic renewal discussions. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of middle-market employer groups (typically 50–100 lives) and serve as a trusted advisor to HR and executive leadership teams.
This position offers the opportunity to step into an existing, well-managed book of business and play a key role in client retention and growth while collaborating with a supportive internal service and account management team.
Job Duties

Manage and retain a portfolio of approximately 40 middle-market employee benefits clients.

Lead renewal strategy planning, open enrollment meetings, and benefits consultations.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR leaders and executive teams.

Partner closely with internal account executives and service staff to ensure client satisfaction and consistency in service delivery.

Provide proactive problem-solving and forward-thinking recommendations that align with each client’s business objectives.

Identify opportunities for cross-selling and organic growth within existing accounts.

Participate in internal planning meetings, training, and team-building initiatives.

Maintain a strong presence in the regional market through professional networking and client engagement.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Minimum of three years’ experience in insurance sales or service, preferably in employee benefits.

Active Life and Health license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment).

Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships with professionalism and minimal supervision.

Strong technical understanding of employee benefits concepts and renewal strategy planning.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills; capable of engaging C-suite and HR leaders effectively.

High level of emotional intelligence, client focus, and initiative.
Preferred:

Experience with mid-sized agencies or brokerages.

Familiarity with agency management systems and carrier portals.

Professional designations such as GBA, CEBS, or similar credentials.
