Our client is located in San Mateo, California, minutes away from the headquarters of Google, Facebook, and Oracle, and just under an hour to the beach. San Mateo has a great downtown and is a family-friendly suburb to live in also. The city is known for its ideal weather and scenic vistas. There are great schools in the area, unique shops, restaurants, and parks to check out as well.

Practice Overview

Our client is a privately owned surgical, specialty and emergency hospital serving San Mateo, San Francisco, and the larger Bay Area. Being one of only three specialty practices in the area, they work hand in hand with referring veterinarians to deliver the highest level of specialty care for their clients. They are a fast-growing practice and well equipped to provide the highest quality of medicine to their patients. They also offer an array of specialty services from veterinary orthopedics, arthroscopy, surgical oncology, laparoscopic and soft tissue surgeries, stem cell therapy, CT scan, internal medicine, endoscopy and emergency services. To provide their patients and clients with the best veterinary care possible, their staff believes in collaboration and is dedicated to sustaining a supportive and compassionate culture. Their team is comprised of 2 board-certified specialty surgeons, an anesthesiologist, internal medicine specialist, daily in-house radiology service and an experienced support staff including RVT’s, Vet Assistants, and Customer Service Representatives. What You’ll Be Working On

Direct influence working alongside a driven team to build, advance, and continue to grow their services
Help their clients solve their unique pet problems
Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of referred small animal cases
The opportunity for mentorship
Educate clients and staff on treatment options and recommendations
Maintain a positive work environment

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program required
Be licensed or able to be licensed in the state of California
A minimum of two years of ER experience is required; five years experience is preferred
Performed a general internship with emphasis on emergency preferred
Worked in an ER specialty practice is preferred
Ability to work an average of 12 shifts/month either daytime or overnight
Highly motivated, with a desire to learn and grow
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated compassion for patients and clients
Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment
