Salary: $16.25 - $22.25 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide basic life support and emergency medical care to patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, ensuring timely arrival at designated locations.
- Adhere to protocols and guidelines to handle patient care efficiently during transport and at scenes of emergencies.
- Participate in continual education and training to stay current with the latest developments in emergency medical services.
- Engage in public education initiatives to enhance community awareness and preparedness for emergencies.
- Mentor, train, and provide support to new staff and peers in the department.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and maintenance procedures to ensure readiness for response operations.
- Document clinical care and interventions accurately for legal, procedural, and patient care purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to provide a continuum of care.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current EMT-B certification.
- Valid state certification as an EMT in Ohio.
- Ability to maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) responsibilities as per State Guidelines.
- Excellent driving record and proficient in the operation of emergency vehicles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, team members, and the public.
- Physical ability to perform medical operations in various settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in emergency medical services or a hospital setting.
- Additional certifications related to advanced life support techniques.
- Familiarity with local medical protocols and regional medical facilities.
- Experience in high-stress and critical decision-making environments.
