About the Hospital and Department:

  • Hospital: Well-loved, growing, non-profit 300+ bed level III trauma center
  • Primary Stroke Center Designated
  • Department: 28 bed ED that treats over 50,000 patients annually
  • Director, Emergency Department (RN) will be well supported by an Assistant Director, Assistant Nurse Managers, and a Department Educator
  • Reports directly to a collaborative and dynamic Chief Nursing Officer

About the Emergency Department Director (RN) Position:

In this role, your main responsibilities will include the strategic and visionary leadership of the department, managing the budget, managing and mentoring your team, ensuring effective staffing strategies, preparing the department for regulatory visits, and building positive relationships with physicians and hospital leadership. We are seeking a collaborative and dynamic leader who will be able to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently provided to our community.

Qualifications & Requirements for the Emergency Department Director (RN)

  • Master's Degree required (BSN or MSN is required)
  • Active RN License State of Alabama
  • 5+ years of ER clinical nursing experience required
  • 3+ years of ER leadership experience at the Manager level or above
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of success in ER leadership
  • Should possess excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Collaborative, team building personality style
  • Metric driven and results-oriented
