Electronics Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, calibrate, and enhance testing equipment in line with company processes and quality expectations.
  • Investigate equipment issues, identify underlying causes, and record completed service activities thoroughly in internal tracking systems.
  • Work closely with engineering and technical support groups on advanced troubleshooting matters and feedback for product enhancement.
  • Keep complete and accurate documentation of maintenance, calibration, and replacement activities to support internal standards and ISO-related requirements.
  • Take part in ongoing technical training to remain up to date on new products, features, and testing methods.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organized workspace that complies with ESD handling and safety practices.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of analog and digital circuitry, testing practices, and measurement fundamentals.
  • Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001 is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable using diagnostic and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with careful attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Open to occasional international travel for training or support-related assignments.

Experience and Education Required

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the repair, servicing, or calibration of electrical or electronic equipment, ideally within a precision instrumentation or testing equipment setting.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or another related technical discipline.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role generally requires the ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly for effective communication. It also involves sufficient manual dexterity for tasks such as handling tools and equipment, occasional reaching, and lifting items weighing more than 50 pounds. Extended periods of sitting may be required, along with some bending and kneeling from time to time. Reasonable accommodations may be provided where appropriate.
