Essential Functions:
- Design electronic circuits from a blank slate including designs with Embedded electronics, Micro controllers/Processor that will meet or exceed the requirements of Avionics Systems (Hardware and software) per DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 and other Military Specifications.
- Lead design reviews to evaluate design progress against the requirements.
- Create drawings for designed electronic devices, including Electrical Schematics and manage or do Printed Circuit Board layout.
- Utilize circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) for modeling designs.
- Support or implementation of systems using Assembler, C, C++ and LabVIEW for test systems.
- Create and/or participate in the creation of Product design documentation required by AAI quality and Product Development Planning (PDP) systems. Examples are Design, Drawings, Design Specifications, Verification and Qualifications Plans and Test Reports, and Engineering Change Notice.
- Individual will be responsible for development/support of new product design and existing product support.
Qualifications:
- Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in analog circuit design, simulation, and troubleshooting including products with Embedded electronics, Micro controllers/Processor.
- Hands on experience with test equipment and instruments like Oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, DC power supplies, electronic loads etc.
- Knowledge on test automation using LabVIEW and TestStand to guide in the development of ATEs (Automated Test Equipment).
- Experience with modeling or simulating design with Spice, SolidWorks, or alike.
- Excellent Listener and communicator.
- Must be detail oriented and capable of understanding and explaining all the details of the datasheets, functional specifications, etc.
- Strong technical knowledge of Ethernet, RS232, RS485, CAN and ARINC 429.
- Ability to achieve deadlines and a strong sense of urgency / responsibility.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Qualifications that are a plus:
- Experience or very strong familiarity with commercial D0-278C/C, DO-254, DO-160 and/or military MIL-STD-461 design and test standards or specifications.
- Strong understating of Design Assurance (DAL) A, B or C Qualification process under DO-178 and DO-254 is a strong plus.
- Well versed in resolving product design issues to comply with EMI/EMC requirements.
- Experience with Avionics or Automotive Electronics Design.
