Journeyman ELECTRICIAN - Chemical Manufacturing Plant (Oil-&-Gas), North Vancouver BC
An inter-provincially Certified Journeyman Electrician position is an achieved role upon completing technical training and getting work experience in a Journeyman trade. The Electrician's role is primarily responsible for preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance, as per work orders and/or supervisor’s instructions, in a safe and efficient manner. This position provides excellent opportunity to obtain industrial electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
A Chemical Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electrician would be someone who has excellent electrical aptitude with a solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, has strong attention to detail and able to communicate complicated technical ideas with precision and clarity. A successful Journeyman Electrician candidate would have the ability to work on a schedule of 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7am to 5pm); with occasional overtime on evenings and weekends (as may be required from time to time). Applicants with Instrumentation certification are preferred and may be eligible for an additional dual trade premium. Permanent Full-Time, 4 days per week (for 10 hours per day) working Day shift with occasional overtime
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Compensation: $57.90 per hour + benefits
We are looking for an onsite Journeyman Certified Electrician for a Chemical Manufacturing Plant that is located in North Vancouver, British Columbia Canada.
A Chemical Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electrician would be someone who has excellent electrical aptitude with a solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, has strong attention to detail and able to communicate complicated technical ideas with precision and clarity. A successful Journeyman Electrician candidate would have the ability to work on a schedule of 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7am to 5pm); with occasional overtime on evenings and weekends (as may be required from time to time). Applicants with Instrumentation certification are preferred and may be eligible for an additional dual trade premium.
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a journeyman maintenance electrician’s role, industrial environment experience is preferred.
Preference may be given to individuals with an additional journeyman Instrumentation’s ticket.
Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to identify and solve complex problems.
Computer literacy with the ability to work with MS Office applications.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs without assistance.
For purposes of performing work: must be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, squat, climb ladders, etc. without any difficulties.
Must pass company medical and background checks.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical).
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in confined work spaces.
Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
Must be “fit for duty”

Must be able to perform under the following conditions:
Work in awkward or confining workspaces.
Work in elevated places.
Work in outdoor environment.
Work in noisy environment.
Safety is a job requirement.
Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals and etc.
Able to work in Adverse Weather Conditions.
Test, troubleshoot, repair, and replace, motors, frequency drives, and control/interlock switches.
Work Conditions
This is an electrochemical, industrial, process type plant. Much of the work is outdoors and frequent walking, bending, crouching, squatting, climbing ladders, etc. may be required.
Please note various chemicals are present on this site. Hence, there is a great sense of awareness, care, precaution, and training around that.
The selection process will consist of a series of interviews followed by a medical (including drug/substance/chemical) test and a criminal background check.
