This position is responsible for developing preventive maintenance procedures, designing and building test circuits as well as other duties pertaining primarily to the maintenance and repair of all electrical and electronic controls related to production equipment and systems designed to draw and produce spring wire.


  • Maintain work areas in a safe and orderly condition; follow all prescribed or standard safety rules and regulations.
  • Check and test new installations upon completion.
  • Test all systems upon completion of repairs or alterations.
  • Repair and test electronic circuit boards.
  • See that all changes are made to master drawings.
  • Use a variety of specialized test equipment in the troubleshooting of complex problems.
  • Design and build test circuits as required to diagnose complex systems.
  • Assist in the design and development of new systems and alterations to existing systems. Assist in the installation of new equipment.
  • Test all systems upon completion of repairs or alterations.
  • Make circuit changes that will improve design or operation.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to effect a smooth installation.
  • Set up and maintain spare parts inventory of specialized electronic and electrical components to ensure a continuation of production with a minimum of downtime.
  • Consult with Engineering, Maintenance and Production personnel on ways and means of improving equipment reliability and prevention of recurring problems.
  • Maintain a chronological history of equipment alterations or repairs.


  • 2-4 years of electrical or electronics education at an accredited university.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic design and application related to mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic material specifications, control systems and hardware components.
  • 4 years hands on experience required.


  • Experience in programming PLC’s e. - Siemen’s, Allen Bradley
  • Duties require a familiarity with associated systems (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) either primary or secondary to electronic or electrical systems.
  • Understand function and interrelationship; troubleshoot or explain such functions to maintenance personnel.
  • Basic computer skills proficient with excel, word, outlook and autocad.
  • Experience with the following systems preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience in Beckhoff systems (CX systems, Twin CAT 2 and 3, Ether CAT)
  • Programming skills in c# (MS.NET, WinForms, UWP)
  • Experience with database systems (MS SQL)
