Electrical Supervisor
ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and managing the day-to-day operations of the Electrical and Maintenance Department. The successful candidate is also responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment related to electrical power distribution, machinery and processes. This position is expected to provide continuous plant operation with optimal up time. Also responsible for the growth and development of team subordinates and promoting a healthy and safe work environment through team building, facilitating problem solving, and making recommendations for continuous process improvement (CPI).

- Troubleshoot and correct problems related to electrical distribution equipment.
- Ability to perform power system studies in areas including load flow for thermal and voltage assessment, fault studies for relay protection assessment, and dynamics for transient and steady state stability assessment.
- Interface with outside power utilities to minimize their disruptions to production.
- Analyze repairs and maintenance requirements in order to proactively address system weaknesses.
- Recommend equipment improvements to improve quality, uptime, and lower maintenance costs; lead or assist in the implementation of such electrical improvement projects
- Lead CAPEX projects related to electrical equipment, and/or provide support to other project leaders including the review of project proposals and estimations
- Use Auto Cad to update/modify/create electrical schematics, single line diagrams etc.
- Document changes to process as well as work orders and purchasing in the maintenance management system (EAM)
- Create a multi-tasking and multifunctional area through periodic training and written procedures
- On-call service and support
- Direct and coordinates the electrical team in areas including safety, quality, cost, efficiency, environmental, training and continuous process improvement.
- Manage staffing levels, work schedules and job assignments
- Maintains respectful communication with co-workers and supervisory staff
- Motivate employees to meet or exceed organizational expectations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Red Seal Industrial Electrician with 8-10 years of industrial electrical power maintenance and/or reliability in an industrial or process manufacturing environment required.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong computer experience using programs such as Auto Cad, Microsoft Office, CMMS, PLC/DCS, Project Management Software
- Must have strong analytical and root cause problem solving capabilities
- Must have proven organizational and time management skills
- Must be task and result oriented
