Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will manage and execute electrical projects, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering & Technical Expertise:
- Design, implement, and manage electrical systems, including switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations for electrical systems, including PLCs and ladder logic.
- Understand and work with networks such as Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including electrical schematics, redlines, and system specifications.
Field Services & Maintenance:
- Perform on-site installations, commissioning, and routine inspections to ensure system reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and internal team members.
- Prepare detailed service reports for each project.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards during all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with SCADA, HMI systems, and relevant electrical standards.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client requirements.
- Plan and oversee projects from conceptualization to commissioning.
- Maintain timelines, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring client satisfaction.
Travel:
- Travel extensively to client sites (up to 60% travel, including weekends and holidays).
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical field services, focusing on switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Expertise with PLCs, ladder logic, and SCADA/HMI systems.
- Knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic networks.
- Familiarity with Siemens, ABB, Eaton, and Schneider equipment is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Capable of working in various conditions, including intense heat, cold, and wet environments.
- Perform precision tasks in confined spaces and awkward positions for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications (not required).
- Additional certifications in electrical safety or related fields.
