Electrical Plant Engineer

PURPOSE: The Electrical Plant Engineer will support Maintenance and Engineering teams and activities at this recycled paperboard operation on the West Coast. Looking for an upwardly mobile Electrical Engineer to lead troubleshooting, maintenance work, and multiple capital projects and equipment upgrades throughout the mill. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management responsibilities for assigned projects and related tasks
  • Assist Maintenance teams on troubleshooting, support/manage Projects as needed
  • From a project perspective, this person must work closely with their end customers, whether operations, maintenance, environmental, or some combination of all
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all departments from the conception phase all the way through project closure.
  • Must be able to negotiate through differing opinions and personalities, thereby reinforcing a team concept.
  • Coordinate project planning, execution, start-up, and closure according to strict deadlines and budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering
  • 3-7+ years of project experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry, or some near equivalent.
  • Controls, PLC, Drives, Troubleshooting, Project Management experience required
  • Mostly use Siemens, some ABB and Allen-Bradley
  • While expertise in project implementation is critical, an awareness of all aspects of how safety, housekeeping, applicable codes, and environmental regulation relates to projects is essential.
