Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The Electrical Engineer will maintain close contact with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project development to identify and implement electrical equipment repairs and reliability improvements.
- Design and specify electrical equipment such as motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 138kV).
- Coordinate projects for new or replacement equipment among engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- Commissioning, startup assistance, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel.
- Relocation assistance available. $130K-$165K.
- The Electrical Engineer will have a BSEE or MSEE and 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in a chemical plant or refinery.
- Experience in the areas of field support with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving.
- Systems with voltages: 138kV, 35kV, 15kV, 4.16kV, 2.4kV and low voltage.
- Schweitzer and GE protective relays. Power management systems. Circuit breaker technologies: SF6 gas, vacuum, and air Standby & emergency generators. Power factor correction capacitors and systems. Cathodic protection hardware and systems. Motor operated valves (MOVs).
- Familiarity with SKM Modeling software.
- Familiarity with Steam turbine generators and Cogen units.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, application of the National Electric Code, NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in The Workplace), NFPA 70B (Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), API RP-500 (Recommended Practice for Classification of Locations for Electrical Installations).
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
