This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

• Design new and redesign existing products, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints
• Analytical capacity for problem-solving, process design and product application, and the ability to guide and lead non-technical personnel to technical and practical cost-effective solutions
• Research and propose PCBA components during the design phase for availability, cost, and redundancy
• Optimize PCBA BOMs for compatibility (temperature, rating margin, agency compliance, process)
• Create product models and design layouts in the computerized system
• Perform mechanical and electrical calculations when required
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods
• Provide accurate and clear direction of status and next step to departmental resources
• Provide technical product support for new and existing products to management, production, sales, customer service, purchasing and accounting departments resolving questions and problems
• Review and approve all revision-controlled documentation, per project, including but not limited to shop drawings, bill of materials, routings and cut lists
• Assist in development and improvement of manufacturing engineering processes
• Effectively take the lead role in product development of new part designs
• Develop design concepts for projects per customer and Sales requests

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent education and experience
• 4-8 years of electrical design experience
• Experience in 3D CAD Modeling or AutoDesk Inventor or other design software preferred
• Professional attitude when approaching work assignments
• Sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks on time
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong math, analytical and reasoning skills
• Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and measurement tools and gauges
