Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer;

This role will have the following responsibilities

• Mill electrical engineer including maintenance and project work.
• PLC maintenance and upgrades including programming, troubleshooting, E&I training, vendor coordination
• DCS Bailey and Delta V programming and troubleshooting, hardware improvements
• 13,8KV and lower Substations and MCC’s troubleshooting and upgrades,
• Manage Consultants where needed for maintenance and projects
• DC and AC Drives and Motors
• Electrical Controls and Automation
• Industrial network communications upgrades and maintenance
• Safety interlocking
• Electrical RCA investigations,
• Investigate issues from “The last 24 hours”
• Monitor equipment conditions using multiple software tools including Valmet, SPN, Nidec, ParcView
• Projects electrical engineering support for new capital projects
• Support maintenance Shutdowns and start up’s
• Manage electrical drawings
• Provide expertise for reliability, efficiency and quality programs
• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience;

• Electrical or Automation control engineer or will hold or be eligible for the P.Eng. or engineering technologist designation
• Minimum 2 years industrial experience, web handling industries including paper, film, or metal strip preferred
• Perform conceptual and detailed design of electrical power and control systems (medium and low voltages)
• Microsoft Office Tools
• Solid understanding of industrial electrical distribution equipment and materials
• Apply industry codes and standards such as Ontario Electrical Code and applicable machine safety standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Hardworking, possess demonstrated technical skills
