Job Description
Responsibilities
- The Electrical Reliability Engineer will own the preventive & predictive maintenance program for low, medium, & high voltage electrical distribution equipment including substations, transformers, protection relays, switchgears, starters, motors, VFD’s, UPS systems, emergency generators & site Turbogenerator.
- Provide oversight & expertise for site electrical safety compliance to NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, electrical classification requirements, & application of mechanical integrity & reliability practices.
- Provides technical support for the maintenance, operation, & troubleshooting of the plant's low, medium, & high voltage systems & equipment.
- Provide recommendations & justification for equipment upgrades & input to the plant capital plan.
- Develop & review electrical work scopes for maintenance, turn-around & equipment outages including temporary power plans.
- Lead & participate in Failure Analysis of electrical equipment & develop corrective actions.
- Technical reviewer of Management of Change for electrical aspects.
- Develop, implement, & maintain a site motor testing program.
- Relocation provided. $120K-$135K.
- The Electrical Reliability Engineer will have a BSEE and 3+ years of experience in Low, medium & high voltage hardware & distribution systems maintenance & reliability in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledgeable in engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor, and cable sizing, etc.
- Able to provide design support in engineering standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI).
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment application, installation & grounding standards.
- Knowledge of instrument application & installation standards is a plus.
- Strong understanding & experience with maintenance & reliability work processes.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
