Job Description:

  • Provides technical support of automation and controls systems for a 24/7 manufacturing operation including hands-on assistance and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnoses electrical wiring, relay logic, control and safety circuits, electronic boards, PLC's, touch screens, displays, contractor's, and motors.
  • Works closely with the Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations personnel to address plant issues and to incorporate new equipment, capabilities and controls into plant operation.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to enhance troubleshooting skills and controls expertise of Maintenance technicians
  • Availability on nights, weekends and holidays to manage project work and to respond to emergencies.
  • Supports safety initiatives and behavioral based safety observation program.
  • Ensures the highest levels of safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory compliance with NEC and other codes and standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership in compliance to plant safety rules, GMP regulations and company safety programs.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing controls systems
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD – Revit
  • Electrical knowledge (National Electrical Code) and control system design to meet NEC and NFPA requirements.
  • Good understanding of motor controls circuits.
  • In-depth understanding of Ethernet & Device Net, communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience calibrating/setting up industrial instrumentation, flowmeters, level sensors and others
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures & electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Experience with large capital projects as well as new plant startups a plus.
  • AS in Electrical Technology and 10+ years of experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated level of training and experience comparable to a BS technical degree.
