Electrical Engineer

Location: Greater Boston area (Hybrid)

Our client, a well-established MEP engineering firm in the Greater Boston area, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to design, plan, and engineer critical, high-visibility building projects. You'll represent the firm in client-facing meetings as lead engineer and supervise a team of designers and drafters. There is also an opportunity to serve as Project Manager on selected projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Serve as engineer on projects, coordinating with the Project Manager and Team Leader as appropriate
• Design and produce electrical systems, including attending meetings and site walk-throughs, performing site surveys, coordinating with other disciplines and consultants, and preparing narratives, reports, drawings, and specifications
• Own the engineering aspects of assigned projects
• Own the technical content of contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports
• Review conceptual designs with the Team Leader and/or Technical Director and complete projects and tasks on schedule
• Coordinate with the project manager and other team members on all technical aspects of the project
• Keep work within the scope of the proposal and on budget
• Carry out the firm's Quality Assurance/Quality Control process and keep the PM informed

Education and Experience

• BSEE
• Electrical design experience
• Revit and AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Strong technical background and knowledge of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, medical, and public buildings such as healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, large mixed-use residential, and hotels
• Working knowledge of state building codes, energy codes, and NFPA codes
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients
• PE preferred, not required
