Electrical Coordinator

A proven and growing electrical contractor in Markham area is currently looking to add a focused career driven electrical coordinator/ jr. project manager to their team! This group is looking for their future leaders and you will be mentored directly by the lead senior pm! Ideally, you will have 2-4+ years of experience in the ICI contracting market, preferably with an electrical background.

The Project Coordinator will assist with the overall project performance and keep a close relationship with their mentor and the senior project manager to help ensure construction projects run smoothly on time and on budget.

Requirements:

- Electrical Engineering, Construction Technical Diploma and/or equivalent trade experience and knowledge

-2-4+ years’ experience in a coordinator role, preferably electrical contacting or electrical engineering

-Working knowledge of Accubid software and AutoCAD preferred

-Basic knowledge of the construction industry

-Ability to read drawings and some exposure to design build projects is preferred

-Planning and scheduling skills

-Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products

-Basic understanding of project forecasting and projections

Responsibilities:

-Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives are met.

- Work with and ensure all health and safety policies are followed / met.

- Assist in planning and preparing of construction schedules

- Monitor the jobs progress against set timelines

-Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

-Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections

-Estimate project changes and impacts

-Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs

-Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships

-Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients

-Document control

-Assist in purchasing supplies and materials as required to complete projects
