A leading provider of thin film deposition solutions used in the optoelectronics market is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and develop all aspects of controls systems for the company's coating equipment.

JOB SUMMARY
Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems for Coating Equipment including programming and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Emerson PAC’s Machine Edition.
• GE CIMPLICITY programming.
• Develop electrical/controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and market requirements.
• Develop both project specific and standardized bill of materials.
• Interpret client requirements, identify, and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.
• Able to work directly with customers in a professional manner to resolve technical issues related to system controls.
• Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
• Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
• Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
• Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
• Software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems.
• Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
• Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
• Support manufacturing, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, vacuum pumps, power supplies, controllers, servos, vfd’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integration.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs any related tasks, as assigned.
• Up to 10% travel required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related Technical Degree.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must be a US Citizen per ITAR regulations.
KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and project plans.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and
customers.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Proficient with MS Office, HMI/SCADA Software, Programmable Logic Controllers and AutoCAD Electrical.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE
• Capital Equipment manufacturing experience, especially in semiconductor, thin films or coating industries.
